What platform do I go with? There are several well know small business platforms to choose from: Wix, Etsy, Shopify, and Square. I personally did my research and found that Etsy fees were a bit higher than some other platforms, however they do send your sales tax to your state. With the other platforms listed above this is something you have to calculate and send to your state on your own. Wix platform has a free website builder and is pretty user friendly, I’d recommend this site if you have a service oriented business. Square is also a free platform, I’d suggest using this if you’re planning to do storefront and events. Shopify is the platform I decided to use, they have a lot of variety on different apps to add to boost the customer experience.
